Funding
Aligning resources, growing support.
The Milwaukee Health Care Partnership secures new, and facilitates existing public and private funding and in-kind resources in support of its work. As an unincorporated, managed consortium, the Partnership utilizes the fiscal agency of its members to receive and distribute grants and support, most commonly through Columbia St. Mary’s. The Partnership identifies, cultivates and solicits funding sources, and serves as a clearinghouse for grant opportunities and collaboration among its members.

To date, the Partnership has secured and distributed more than $30 million:
- $1,644,76 in directed funds: provided by funders to the Partnership to support key initiatives.
- $3,478,712 in leveraged funds: raised by the Partnership on behalf of community clinics and other partners.
- $24,999,280 in health systems’ shared community investments: pooled health system contributions, allocated on an annual basis to community clinics and other partners, with a focus on expanding access, building capacity and enhancing care coordination.
Health Systems’ Shared Funding
In addition to the annual Shared Community Investments Fund (SCIF), the health systems have partnered with the United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County since 2012, to sponsor the Milwaukee Health Care Partnership Challenge Grant. Part of United Way’s annual campaign, contributions raised through the challenge grant are directed to the MHCP/United Way Health Improvement Fund, which supports programs aligned with the Partnership’s and United Way’s goals of improving coverage, access, care coordination, and community health. In the last four campaigns, more than $1.45 million has been raised for the Health Improvement Fund.
